From humble beginnings, to impacting thousands.

Lighthouse Christian Chargers was started as a Christian homeschool football ministry in 2006 by Coach David Lohn. The team played its first two seasons in 2006 and 2007 as an 8 man team. In only their second season, they won the 2007 National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) Division 3 Championship in Dayton, Tennessee.

The following season the team moved to 11 man football. The Chargers joined the newly formed National Homeschool Football Association (NHFA) in 2008, winning the league's inaugural National Championship.

The Chargers have gone on to win a total of five NHFA football titles (2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, and 2021).  In 2022, the five NHFA National Championship teams were inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Out of Chargers Football, Lighthouse Christian Athletics was born and has grown steadily over the last 17+ years to offer eight additional sports for homeschool students in Southwest Missouri.  The organization currently serves over 900 student athletes. The Chargers ministry now includes baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, flag football, football, soccer, track & field, and volleyball.

In December 2021, Lighthouse Chargers Booster Club was formed as a separate entity with a mission to seek out funding, to plan, and to build a first of it's kind athletic facility to serve the Charger homeschool community.   In the next few weeks we will be purchasing land for Phase 1 of our project and will be breaking ground.  It's an exciting time for homeschool athletics!
